چکیده

Metarhizium anisopliae is a well-studied entomopathogenic fungus that widely used in biological control programs. The presence of polymycoviruses this common, but their effects on fungal development and stress tolerance are not well understood. In study, we report the discovery novel double-stranded RNA virus, named polymycovirus 1 (MaPmV1), which comprises four dsRNAs ranging from 2.4 to 1.4 kbp length. Phylogenetic analysis revealed MaPmV1 belongs Polymycoviridae family. Biological comparison between MaPmV1-infected (Vi) -free (Vf) isogenic lines showed remarkably enhances growth rate conidiation host fungus. upregulation growth- conidiation-related genes Vi strains supports finding. addition, increases sensitivity UV-B irradiation, evidenced by downregulation DNA damage repair strains. However, does appear have any significant impact virulence M. . Furthermore, overexpression individual viral proteins did result phenotypic alterations, indicating MaPmV1-mediated changes related single protein. Overall, our findings suggest mycoviruses can be exploited enhance fungi, may lead improved conidium production large scale.

Laboratory evaluation of three strains of the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae for controlling Hyalomma anatolicum anatolicum and Haemaphysalis punctata

Hyalomma anatolicum anatolicum and Haemaphysalis punctata larval ticks were shown to be susceptible to different strains of entomopathogenic fungi Metarhizium anisopliae under laboratory conditions. To determine the susceptibility of H. anatolicum anatolicum and H. punctata to M. anisopliae, two suspensions of conidia were used (103 and 104 spores/ml). The treatments were conducted by immersing...

Diversity of glycosil hydrolase family 18 genes in environment isolates of the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae

Backgound Metarhizium anisopliae is a model for host-pathogen studies due to its ability to infect several different arthropods. The first barrier to accomplish successful host-infection is transverse the host cuticle, which is a rigid chitin-rich structure. To surpass this barrier, the fungus produces several hydrolytic enzymes, among which are chitinases and endo-b-N-acetylglucosaminidases, g...

The entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae alters ambient pH, allowing extracellular protease production and activity.

Ambient pH regulates the expression of virulence genes of Metarhizium anisopliae, but it was unknown if M. anisopliae can regulate ambient pH. Mutants of M. anisopliae altered in production of oxalic acid were evaluated for the interrelationship of ambient pH, buffering capacity added to media, growth, and generation of extracellular proteases and ammonia. Wild-type and acid-overproducing mutan...
